I got a question this morning at the desk about booking the McLennan seminar rooms M5-37A and M6-37A.
Eamon is still looking after the room bookings, and instructors can write to mclstacks.library@mcgill.ca to request a room. They are pretty much full for the fall, but anyone who asks can write to that address.
This is a temporary set up until the future use of the rooms is determined.
The web page that used to have information about the rooms has been taken down, but the calendars are still accessible as before (see http://www.mcgill.ca/library/library-assistance/classes/).

Blackader info desk and storage requests
To allow for the installation of new carpet and construction of a new info desk, the Blackader info desk has been closed, and will reopen for the beginning of the term. A sign directs clients to the HSSL information desk. Clients requiring assistance locating material in the stacks may ask any of the SNs (identified by red shirts) currently shifting material in BL, 9-4:30 M-F.
For your information:
-BL journals (including most recent issue) are now being interfiled in the main A-Z sequence
-Folio books are in the process of moving from the south end of the library to the north end
-Computers and study desks are currently unavailable and will return for the start of term
-Selected closed serial titles have been moved to Redpath Basement. The location has not yet been updated in the catalogue. Mari Vihuri, the head SN on this project, and I have a list of material moved to basement. If you have a client who can't locate a journal that should be in BL, please refer them to the SNs working in BL. If it is outside of SN working hours, please treat as a 'storage request':
Storage requests:
-Requests are accepted at the HSSL info desk (slips of paper for this purpose located on back counter in wooden box
- have client fill out form and return paper to box)
-Material is retrieved M-F at 1pm and moved to the Rare Books and Special Collections Dept (M-F, 9-5) for consultation
-We do NOT contact clients when material is ready; we will only contact if there is a problem, ie item not found
Do not hesitate to contact me for further information.
Thanks,
Jennifer
