From Lonnie and Juanita:
We have acquired the 7th edition of the "MLA handbook for writers of research papers".
Two copies will be kept at the Info desk for consultation and 3 copies are in the stacks for borrowing.
The latest version of the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (“MLA Handbook”) comes with an accompanying Web site component. This site is accessible only by Authorized Users as defined in their document of terms and conditions
It is particularly important that we strictly comply with the following restrictions on use (for a full list of permitted and not permitted uses, and other conditions, we urge you to check the site http://mlahandbook.org/fragment/terms_of_use
When presenting seminars, tutorials or general instruction please keep the following in mind:
2. Permitted Uses
• Display the Site or portions of it on a screen or monitor for the purpose of face-to-face classroom instruction.
• Display the Site or portions of it on a monitor in a library for the use of an institution’s librarians as they provide face-to-face reference assistance.
3. Uses Not Permitted
• Linking to or framing any part of the Site other than the Site’s public home page, www.mlahandbook.org.
• Posting a user name and password for use by others. If you are an institutional owner of a copy of the MLA Handbook, such as a library, you are not authorized to make available a user name and password for general use, such as by library patrons. The user name and password are not intended to be used as a “site license.”
HOW TO LOG IN TO THE MLA HANDBOOK
1. Go to http://www.mlahandbook.org/
2. HSSL library has three registered user names.
The password for all three names is the same that we use at the Info desk sign in.
Only one person can be logged in with a user name at any one time, therefore it is important to check that nobody is already using the password before you log in.
If you plan to log in during a class presentation, make sure to inform the desk about which name you’ll be using.
