Finding the Economist:
1. In print. McGill has two subscriptions to the weekly print edition: one in HSSL and one in Howard Ross. The latest issue should be displayed in the journals rack of each library, as latest issue is not to be borrowed. Earlier issues may or may not be on the 5th floor in a box (this magazine is classified as Folio, hence 5th floor). Today, June 9, we should have on display in HSSL the issue of June 4 according to the catalogue. As usual the latest issue is not there, but I saw 3 of the May issues (which should have been removed!). Loose issues always play this disappearing act, and The Economist is the champion on this game. Latest issue is never there. So, other options?

2. Online versions
a. Access via SFX dialogue box offers 6 links, the first link (The Economist) and the third one (Ejournals) take to the online version which has a link to the print version on the web. Please note that the latest issue there is JUNE 11. The first link should also provide access to the EIU version html with graphs.

b. Three other links take to the html version (no graphs) in Expanded Academic, Proquest Research and Proquest ABI. Latest issue will not be available FT in these.

c. The last link takes to the Historical archive. The catalogue says up to 2003, but in fact the current access is to 2006. A new platform with improved search engine will be available in August and will include up to 2007.

d. More locations not listed in the catalogue. The Economist is also available in some of the EBSCO databases (last issue embargoed. EBSCO will cease to carry it in May 2012). And it is in Factiva both as archive and in the News Pages tab for the UK (last 4 issues). Factiva also has June 11. I think we will find that Lexis also carries it
