A professor from the History Department was trying to track down an article in a journal publshed in Upper Canada in 1861. An Amicus search turned up scattered holdings at QMM but nothing in the OPAC and no listings for a CIHM copy (which seems odd). We sent her up to Rare books to look in the old card catalogue and, sure enough, it was there and RBD had it and were able to supply a photocopy for her class.
Lesson: Don't forget the old card catalogue! There are tens of thousands of records there that are nowhere else.
