Cutter Stacks

A fair number of books from the Cutter collection in the Redpath area beyond the Loans Desk ( up the winding staircase) have been moved. They are now shelved in the Redpath Basement (formerly the Blacker-Wood basement). The Cutter books in Redpath basement are those bearing call number range IK/D to ZZ. They are shelved in distinctive black shelving units which have Cutter range signs affixed to their sides. These books are accessible to users. They represent approximately 3/4 of the Cutter collection. The location change in our catalogue is being effected by Jane Aitkens and her staff.

All other Cutter books (A to IJ) and ALL FOLIOS (A-Z) are still in the old Cutter location (up the winding staircase). These books will be fetched upon request by Loans staff.

Some CUTTER SERIALS have not been moved to Redpath basement, since they are hoping to reclass them soon. Therefore, some CUTTER SERIALS (IK to ZZ) are recorded in the catalogue with Redpath Basement locations, but they are really in the old Cutter location (up the winding staircase)

The goal is to move all Cutter books to the Redpath basement but we are uncertain when this will be completed.
