Hi. It's approaching moving day in Montreal and we receive many calls from people who want to give us their books. We rarely want to accept what is on offer because 1)we usually have the material already, 2)we are out of space and 3)we have a cataloguing backlog of over 200,000 items. However, there is a file kept of such offers in the old collections office, so please refer any calls you receive at the reference desk about gifts to Nancy Crowe. Ditto for books offered at the ref desk. Refer them to Nancy. She will speak to the appropriate liaison librarian and they will decide whether or not to ask for a list and how to proceed.
