We are about to begin the construction of the new E-Zone on the street level of Redpath (S1). This wonderful new space will provide our students, researchers, faculty and staff with an architecturally designed environment that supports a new e-classroom, group study rooms and study booths, extensive laptop, computer and study space, a n assignment production area, comfortable lounge space and service desk.
Construction is scheduled to start in the middle of May and should be ready in September 2007.
The current Redpath S1 study/computer space will be closed beginning Thursday May 3rd at 8:00 am and will remain closed until we launch the new E-Zone.
Access to the compact shelving and stacks located in the basement level of Redpath (S2) will be provided through the central Redpath staircase only. Contractors will be working in the stack area of S2 over the summer. Access will occasionally be restricted to staff only. Closure dates will be posted in advance. We shall also be proceeding with the installation of additional compactus shelving in the lower Redpath basement, this project will be timed to work in with the other building work being undertaken. email from J.
